Huaraz,Peru

08/26/08

After an eight hour bus trip from Lima we arrived in the town of Huaraz the mecca of trekking the Cordillera Blanca region of Northern Peru.

The Journey

In January of 1994, I was involved in a serious near death experience and this accident had a profound effect on my outlook on life. It made me realize I needed to really live life to the fullest. I had always wanted to travel and experience different cultures and experience how other people lived their lives. This was something I was interested in from the time I was twenty and took a two-month journey across the U.S. My goal was to see as many states and National Parks as I could. After many years and adventures, I'd like to share my experiences, from my early trip canoeing the lakes in the Adirondacks, to my more challenging undertakings; hiking the mountains of Slovenia, backpacking in the Wind River Range in Wyoming, the hut-to-hut bike trip from Telluride to Moab, and all the trips in between; Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and my most recent trip, a Mountain Summit in Peru.
