Columbine Hut

The rides are getting longer a thirty four mile day and some great scenery we forget about the aches and pains,and stop to wash up at a campground spring before our night at the Columbine Hut.

The Joy of a Cold One

A long day in the saddle even though we have a decent of 3,380' we travel 26 miles to the Spring Creek Hut ,so after a good six to seven hour ride it was great to see those coolers in front of the hut and taste our first cold one.

First Night

Our first night at the Last Dollar Hut turned into a real gourmet feast,the hut was really well stocked with food,our dinner...Fettuccine Alfredo with canned spam and peas,this was an intro to hut dinners for the next four nights,as we posted our adventure in the hut journal someone wrote that there were coolers of beer at the next hut,something to dream about that night.

As our bikes are loaded on a trailer we head to Telluride for the start of the 215 mile adventure,

late that morning we arrive and prepare our bikes with gear for the week long trip,this day we will travel 14.8 miles a 2,785 ft. ascent to an elevation of 10,980 to our first night at the Last Dollar Hut.

some of us have our bikes shipped out U.P.S. to Poison Spider bike shop in Moab where they let us assemble our bikes,the others rent bikes from the shop,while we wait in Moab for our bikes and gear to be transported to Telluride for the start of the trip we spend the day touring Arches N.P.
