"The Final Ride"

What a way to end the trip about two miles of switchbacks on our descent to Moab,we could cook an egg on our rims from breaking so much,we go back up a few miles and have to take cover in a rock canyon while a thunder storm passes,then down to the slickrock domes where we see Moab below us.

Hitching a Ride

Mike and Terri decide to hitch a ride to Moab with a couple we met at the Gateway Dinner looking ahead at a 4,000 ft accent to the La Sal Hut and another day of riding a 6,500 descent, 38 mile ride into Moab I think about how nice its going to feel tasting that first Margarita and sleeping in a real bed.

Going Down

After an ascent of 2,100ft we descend 4,560 a long 33 mile day on our way to the Gateway Hut,we stop in the small town of Gateway for some burgers and meet some interesting locals

later we take a swim in the Ute creek near the Hut. watch the "goatheads"!

Graham Cabin

This is our fourth day riding and a long one, thirty seven Miles of hard back country roads and we end up at the Graham Ranch owned and operated by Tam and Deana Graham we meet Tam and he gives us good advice about our next day ride,and lets us take a much needed shower at the ranch bunkhouse.
